We Are One ....
"The best way to find yourself is to loose yourself in the service of others"
As we sit in the comfort of our living rooms and watch the devastation and death in Haiti, you think, what can I do. There is a sense of helplessness. Life is so precious and so fragile. Should you give ... absolutely ! I learned last week as of Friday that Canadians on a per capita basis had given 5 times that of Americans. Bravo Canada, but it is not enough.
This is a common cause ... we are all one. There are no boundaries, no boarders and no barriers when a disaster like this strikes. As Beyonce put it so brilliantly on Friday evening on the US telethon during her rendition of her smash hit Halo ... "Haiti we can see your Halo".
We see children, hurt, hungry and suffering, over 400,000 orphans and yet they still smile. They are so innocent, so resilient. The children become our teachers in these times through their show of strength and resolve. Let's not let them walk alone. This is not a time to think about it, it's a time to act and give. You can make a difference.
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give"
- Winston Churchill
