Thought for the week from Tim Cork - What do you Love?
What do you Love?
“Find something you love to do and you’ll never have to
work a day in your life.”
– Harvey MacKay
People are good at what they love. Passion drives us if we truly love to do something, whether we’re at work or play. Make a list of 10 to 20 things you love or love doing. Then make sure that what’s on that list is the foundation of everything you do in life. If you don’t love what you are doing and where you are, then make a change. Fill out this list:
I love ___________
I love ___________
I love ___________
We can only truly excel at what we love to do. We can only be happy if we do these things with the ones we love in our personal life. My list has a few people like my wife, my kids, my mother. Also on my list are writing, reading, hockey, public speaking, giving, canoe trips and some other stuff. I make sure that I include these in every part of my life. I take inventory on a regular basis to make sure these people, things and experiences are getting the lion’s share of my time and energy. Do an inventory of your own life. Are you, the majority of your time doing what you love?
