Tim Cork's Thought for the Week!
Intention ... not a good strategy
"Do or do not, there is no try"...
-Yoda in the Empire Strikes Back
Intention is a word that is used by many people when they are explaining their goals, plans, future, path to success etc., but intention is just not a good strategy or philosophy for life. Intention is the abyss, the land of maybe, a concept that let's people off the hook. Either you are going to do something or you are not. It is like the word try. This is another word or concept that you need to eliminate from you thoughts, beliefs and dreams. Try does not exist either. You take action or you don't. There is no middle ground to hang out in life.
Dr. Seuss in his the book "Oh the Places You'll Go", one of the greatest books ever written on life talks about the waiting place and he states that that's not for you...he's right. When we set our goals and look to our purpose on why we do what we do, don't ever say that you intend or will try. You either will or will not. I don't hear Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Sidney Crosby, Oprah or any really successful people say try or intend. These are not part of there vocabulary or part or their plan for success.
I will try to send out my weekly book blog every week ... wow that is a promise to aspire to ... don't think so !
